State Of The Art Hairdressing Salon Opens At The Knolls

The grand opening of a brand new therapy room and state of the art hair salon took place at The Knolls Care Centre to great fanfare this month.

Rob Newman, project manager for the works, was delighted to unveil the facility this week to our resident hairdressers, Sue Stone and Tracy Stacey.  Rob has worked closely with the girls, consulting with them about their exact requirements and has managed to incorporate some wonderful ideas to come up with a functional salon, ideally suited to our elderly residents and offering a bright, fresh look.

The new salon incorporates both back and front wash sinks, a dedicated drying area and room for residents to have a chat over a cup of tea while they wait for their 'appointment'.

Residents are over the moon with the new salon, commenting that it now feels like they have “had a special trip out to the hairdressers”, with all the pampering that entails, in contrast to simply, “having had their hair done at the home”.

The result has been obvious around the home, with everyone talking about the new facility and comparing their latest ‘do’s’.

Our only problem now is managing the appointment book!
