A Day to Remember - Titanic Commemoration Day At Millbridge

On 15th April 1912, RMS Titanic struck an iceberg while on her maiden voyage and was lost at sea.  To commemorate the centenary of this tragic event, the Residents of Millbridge took part in a day of themed activities.

To start off the day, “Able Sea Woman” Sally led residents in assorted games and activities, including “Quoits on deck”, before residents were called through to luncheon, where the menu was a recreation of the final menu from the Titanic's First Class restaurant on the fateful day.

As residents arrived at the restaurant they were served sherry by the

“Ship's Boy”, and then escorted by staff to their dining tables; Lunch was served by “Captain Marcus” and “Ship's Cook”, Christian, while music from the film of Titanic provided a musical backdrop.

The theme continued throughout the afternoon, as after lunch, residents enjoyed a cinematic presentation of their choice of film - either "A Night to Remember" or "Titanic" by James Cameron.

Residents, staff and visitors all enjoyed their commemoration of RMS Titanic.
