News From Hill Ash House

Victorian Tea Party:

Our Victorian Tea afternoon was enjoyed by residents, family and friends alike and the team dressed for the occasion.  Cream tea and cupcakes were served on vintage tea sets by staff dressed in Victorian maid costume to a background of music from the era.  The aim of the event was to raise awareness of Dementia during Dementia Week.

Oasis Club Lunch:
Lunch at the Oasis Lunch Club in Newent was enjoyed by a group of residents who appreciated the trip to a new lunch environment.

Events to look forward to in June:

Friends of Hill Ash House Group – Come and join us as a "Friend of Hill Ash House" to help support with ideas and organisation of different projects.  Our first will be to consider ideas for a sensory garden within the grounds. If you are able to offer your support please do come along to our first meeting on Monday 1 June at 4.00pm at Hill Ash House… or if you'd like further information, please contact us to find out more.

Ruby Lamont a fabulous singer will be coming to Hill Ash during June to entertain everyone with classic hits from the 1940’s and 1950’s

The very popular Bugs, Bunnies and Beasties are making a return visit with petting rabbits and guinea pigs and the not so soft and cuddly tarantula spider and snake.  This is always a popular event as it is interesting to see these creatures close up and everyone loves stroking the rabbits and guinea pigs…  one or two even stroke the snake!!!!

Also during June a local primary school will be attending and entertaining for the afternoon tea.  It is great for the local community to get involved with staff and residents and school visits are always enjoyed.

We hope you enjoy the programme and look forward to seeing you soon.
