Chef Carl Sloman Wins Unilever Chef Day Awards

Chefs across the European Healthcare Group attended a Unilever Chef day this September, where new recipes, creative meal ideas and industry best practice were discussed and demonstrated.

One of the most enjoyable of the day's demonstrations saw a range of new finger food ideas for residents being prepared, all of which being healthy and easy to prepare and serve.

Some the of recipes included:

  • Apple & Ginger Sponge
  • Beetroot & Chilli Sponge
  • Carrot & Cumin Sponge
  • Courgette & Cardamom Sponge
  • Swede & Mixed Spice sponge
  • Cheese & Onion sausage roll

Blind tasting was conducted on a range of other foods, from gravies to sponge cakes and Unilever nutritionists answered questions from the assembled Chefs, before taking their places on the judging panel to determine the day’s “Master Chef”.

Many congratulations go to Carl Sloman, Chef at Bay Tree Court, who won the best tasting and best presented meal of the day. Carl is pictured on the left with his winning dish.
