Maintenance Operative / Caretaker:
Are you a Caretaker / Maintenance operative looking for your next challenge?
Do you want to work in a friendly environment where your efforts are really appreciated and no two days are the same?
In this role, you will have good DIY skills and an interest in general grounds maintenance, in fact you will be a bit of an all-rounder who is keen to get stuck in and has a strong willingness to help others.  You will be a conscientious, friendly, well organised individual with a can-do attitude, who will take pride in their surroundings.  Any previous experience carrying out maintenance in a care home or a school would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
• Reporting daily direct to the homes manager and/or group facilities manager.
• To manage your time effectively to ensure the site is kept in good order, maintaining the highest levels of safety for our residents and staff at all times.
• To undertake room refreshes, some painting and minor repairs to building fabric.
• Carry out Statutory compliance checks in the home – full training provided.
• To keep accurate, legible hand-written maintenance logs and records. To assess, report, and repair breakdowns in house where possible.
• To ensure all contractors visiting the site adhere to Health & Safety and fire policy of the home at all times.
• To ensure that all works reported in the homes maintenance book is carried out in a timely manner, this may involve reporting the issue or carry out minor repairs in-house.
• To maintain the external kerb appeal of the site from the main driveway right up to reception.
• To co-operate and build good relationships with all staff, residents and visitors.
• Must attend all statutory training provided by the company.
In addition to the above you will be required to have a good basic education English/Maths GCSE, to participate in staff meetings, a clear DBS check prior to starting. Some on-call will be required.
Desirable skills
Any basic plumbing, electrical or carpentry skills, and Health & Safety awareness.
